OK. I think Gone is a really strong start for another great series (and for what I hope will be another reading marathon… if only I could keep my eyes open, but after fifteen hours of reading nothing but Gone I don’t think I can stay up any longer.)I had a strong hankering for bloodthirsty kids, having read Higson’s The Enemy, and Gone does not disappoint at all. Anyone over the age of fifteen has disappeared. The kids are left to themselves. My first question was, what happened to all the babies taking a bath? Morbid much? Well, when something along that line of questioning happens, I was shocked. It gets worse. With no one to tell them what to do, bullies rule. Things do not stop there, there are weirder things going on: some of the kids have powers. Then enter the kids from Coates Academy. Whaaaa! There’s so many things going on in this book, no wonder it’s so thick!So here’s the skinny:A lot of actionAn intriguing story lineAnd solid writing.*Thanks for the heads up Carlos and Kay-C!*
